Important! Read the following sections to update your software before you install the HP XPS Print Driver.

Follow these steps to download and install the Microsoft packages:

1. Visit www.microsoft.com.
2. Search for "Microsoft MSXML 6.0 Core Services" and select the search item called "Download details: Microsoft Core XML Services (MSXML) 6.0".
3. Download and install the file called "msxml6.msi".
4. Return to www.microsoft.com.
5. Search for "Microsoft XPS Essentials Pack" and select the search item called "Download details: XPS Essentials Pack Version 1.0".
6. Download and install the file called "XPSEP Vista 32 bit.msu".
7. Return to www.microsoft.com.
8. Search for "Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package (x86)" and select the search item called "Download details: Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package (x86)".
9. Download and install the file called "vcredist_x86.exe".
10. Reboot your computer.

Important! The HP XPS Printer Driver is only compatible with a direct connection to your printer, using a USB cable. Network functionality is not supported.

The HP XPS Printer Driver will work only with applications that support XPS Printing, such as the Windows Vista Photo Gallery. It uses Windows Color System (WCS) technology designed to improve quality and speed of color printing of documents with rich graphics.

This printer driver has a very limited set of supported features and therefore it is not recommended for standard, everyday printing.
